Demon or warlock: A force of evil. Each takes on different forms and has different powers and abilities.

Whitelighter: A person who has died, but been brought back to Earth to protect and heal good people. Similar to a guardian angel. Has the power to heal injuries and to orb into glowing molecules to go from place to place, to the underworld, etc.

The Elders: also known as the Powers That Be. Similar to gods. The highest rank of good. They know most everything, and they have the utmost power. They communicate with whitelighters to advise witches. The reside in something comparable to heaven, where whitelighters often orb out to.

The Source: The most powerful of all evil. All knowing has the utmost power of evil. All demons and warlocks feel his pull, a reminder to follow his path. He is called the Source because he is the Source of All Evil. Note: has the power to block a witch’s signal from a whitelighter trying to sense him/her.

The underworld: Where demons, the Source, or any evil resides, hides, lives, works, exist. Comparable to Hell. Whitelighters cannot sense a witch if he/she is in the underworld unless they go down.

Vanquished: to be destroyed by a spell, potion, or power. Note: different that being defeated. Being defeated just means being weakened and forced to withdraw back into the underworld.

Sry: To use an object with a map to focus on a thing or individuals energy to locate their position on the map. Often used with a crystal on a string.

The triad: A group of three evil creatures. They were very powerful, and answered directly to the Source. Worked for him, assigning demons, when the Source was in retreat. Cole Turner destroyed them when they tried to kill him.

Upper-level demons: Close to the Source's inner circle. They have human forms; they bleed red, and can only be vanquished by a potion from their own blood. Belthazor was an upper level demon.

The book of shadows: A magical book containing all the spells the girls use to help innocents and vanquish demons. It has been in the family for centuries.

The spirit board: A board in which living people can communicate with the dead. The girls’ spirit board was how they discovered the book of shadows and their powers. This can also be known as an Ouija Board
